Identity and charism are the starting points for reflection at the Global Network of Schools Conference at the Sagrado Coração de Maria School, in Lisbon.
Sister Coltrida Mooya, Leader of the Institute, began the morning by highlighting that formation helps each person to recognise and strengthen their own identity, developing the confidence to face changes and reinforcing commitment to the Mission.
In turn, Sister Maria Teresa Nogueira, General Councillor, recalled the beginnings of the Institute and the challenges experienced over the years during her reflection on the theme “Roots that Expand”. She emphasised that the Institute’s journey inspires us to live the reality of each time with openness to changes, underlining that, since its foundation, the Institute has been building a model of leadership marked by collaboration, trust, cultural diversity and plurality, with unity as one of its main challenges and pillars.
Paulo Ribeiro Campino, Head of the Lisbon School, spoke about “The Heart of the Charism”, reflecting on the commitment to educate so that all may have life, promoting the wholeness of each person. He also noted that RSHM Schools should help each person to live fully who they are and to ask themselves: “What is the purpose of my life?”
